Archbishop Cardinal Vinko Puljić blessed today the bell intended for the Holy Mass, which will take place on Saturday, June 6, at the Koševo Stadium in Sarajevo, led by the Holy Father, Pope Francis.

Cardinal Puljić explained that the custom is to bless everything that will serve the liturgy.

“We blessed liturgical vessels and vestments, and today we blessed the bell as well. It is all slowly going towards the most important event planned for June 6, and that is the meeting with the Holy Father,” he told reporters.

He called on the faithful to join in prayer that day, and all people of good will to open their ears and hearts to hear what the Pope has to say.

“I'd like there to be good will in all of us so we could achieve this positive message in BiH,” said Cardinal Puljić.

The bell, intended for the Holy Mass on June 6 at the Koševo Stadium in Sarajevo, has been delivered earlier this month from Zagreb.

The bell was cast in the foundry of Joseph Tržec in Zagreb, and is is a gift from the company “Metal product” and Stjepan Šafran’s family from Zagreb.

Pope Francis will visit Sarajevo on June 6, which will be the third time a Roman Catholic pontiff comes to BiH.
