The High Representative to BiH Valentin Inzko visited today the Municipality of Srebrenica where he paid his respects to the victims of genocide at the Memorial Center in Potočari and met with the mothers of Srebrenica.
He also talked with the Municipal Mayor Ćamil Duraković and his deputy Biljana Rakić and with the president and vice president of the Municipal Council Miloš Milovanović and Hamdija Fejzić.
“I came to Srebrenica to see how preparations are going for the burial and commemoration on Saturday. It is important for the burial to be dignified and that victims are in the first plan and that they will follow the instruction which were prepared by the Organizing Committee,” Inzko said after the meeting.
He stressed that July 11 should be remembered and that we need to build a better future for the young people in Srebrenica.
Municipal Mayor Ćamil Duraković said that they are all committed for these “day tot go as planned and that the victims are a priority.”
“We call on all citizens to remember that everything happens for the victims and that they should respect the rules of the Organizing Committee, in particular when it comes to 11 July. We must be calm and we should not do anything that may leave tragic consequences,” said Duraković.
President of the Municipal Council of Srebrenica Miloš Milovanović said that they informed the High Representative on preparations for marking the suffering of Bosniaks and Serbs and called on the citizens of the municipality for the marking to go calmly.
“Like the President of the Organizing Committee for the celebration of the suffering of Serbs urge all Serbs to mark the suffering of Serbs in a dignified way, and that in a dignified manner, mark the suffering of other ethnicities,” said Milovanović.
