President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor, attending today's marking of the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, in a media statement said that the past cannot be changed but the future can.
Pahor stressed that the future requires two things, namely reconciliation and forgiveness no matter how difficult this might be.
“It is the only alternative for the future with a clear European perspective for Bosnia and Herzegovin,” said Pahor.
He concluded that reconciliation can only be done by people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that the international community cannot do much because its task is to do everything to ensure a clear European perspective for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He announced that Slovenia will do everything in its power "not to waste time on the path towards this future”.
