At the Divojka cemetery in Dobrič near Široki Brijeg yesterday, there was a verbal attack on European Parliament representative Željana Zovko, who comes from the HDZ party.
The incident occurred during an attempt to hold a religious ceremony, when gathered residents expressed opposition and directed a series of insults at those present.
According to the "Mostar Today" portal, priest Miljenko Krešić from Polog, together with a group of believers among whom was Željana Zovko, was turned back from the location by gathered residents.
In footage circulating publicly, you can see Zovko during a discussion with residents saying:
- Shame on you, I have to be in fear in Sarajevo, and here I have to be in fear - Zovko said.
A similar situation occurred a day earlier, when the holding of mass at the same cemetery in Dobrič was prevented, where a smaller number of believers gathered who supported the arrival of diocesan clergy.
Residents then blocked the entry of a priest appointed by the Mostar-Duvno Diocese.
This is a long-standing dispute over the distribution of certain parishes between Franciscans and diocesan priests, with some residents still refusing to accept changes after parishes were for years under the management of Franciscans.
According to available information, the Ministry of Interior of the West Herzegovina Canton was informed of both events, reports "Mostar Today".
