The Prosecutor's Office of B&H has issued an order to conduct a new investigation against the Director General of the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) Osman Mehmedagić, Minister of Security in the Council of Ministers Selmo Cikotić and retired OSA officer Muriz Druškić who is a current member of the Second Instance Commission of the Council of Ministers for handling complaints in security clearance cases.

Legal uncertainty

This is a "Security Check" affair, and Mehmedagić, Cikotić and Druškić are suspected of the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority in connection with the illegal appointment and participation in the work of the Commission, which resulted in the creation of general legal uncertainty for the handling of security clearance cases.

Avaz found out that the Prosecution, in the explanation of the order for conducting the investigation, points out that Druškić and Sarić should have made decisions in accordance with Mehmedagić's orders, to the detriment of police officers. A new investigation could also result in a new indictment against Mehmedagić. He was recently accused of abusing his position in an affair related to the illegal exclusion of video surveillance from the "BH Post" branch in Alipašino Polje.

A new investigation order was officially launched after a criminal complaint was filed a month ago by some police and civil servants who were denied permission secretly, which left them without job. Due to this affair, all state ministers in the Council of Ministers were questioned, except, of course, the suspect Cikotić. Former Security Minister Fahrudin Radončić was among the first witnesses to be heard.

Namely, it is suspected that the members of this commission, which is formally appointed by the Council of Ministers, were appointed outside the law and that the procedures and previous proposals were not followed. According to the criminal report, Sanjin Prašović was originally proposed to the Council of Ministers as a member of the Commission, and he met the conditions for this position. He was then nominated by Radončić, but after his resignation, Minister Bisera Turković decided last minute to nominate Ismail Sarić at a session of the Council of Ministers, who was then appointed.

Illegal actions

The nomination of another member of the Commission, the representative of OSA Druškić, is also disputable. He was appointed to the Commission at the end of June, although he retired in March this year. However, Mehmedagić, Cikotić and Druškić knew about these illegal actions, which is why an investigation is being conducted against them.

They denied guilt

Mehmedagić and the head of the Cyber Security Department of this institution, Muhamed Pekić, yesterday denied guilt on the indictment of the Prosecutor's Office of B&H for abuse of position or authority. They said at the hearing that they understood the indictment and that they were aware of the punishment for the acts committed.
