One of the first formal moves

- We will have a ceremonial academy without an audience, but in a live television broadcast - said Cvijanović.

It was subsequently announced that a musical parade will be held - a concert by the Police Orchestra of the RS Ministry of the Interior on the route National Theater - Palace of the Republic - Krajina Square.

The so-called "Assembly of the Serb Republic in Bosnia and Herzegovina", held in Sarajevo 29 years ago on January 9th, 1992., was one of the first formal moves by then-republican and federal Yugoslav Serb officials as part of a plan to break up B&H and creation of a "Greater Serbia".

Attempt to create a "Greater Serbia"

The assembly held in Sarajevo on January 9th, although formally, according to experts, can be considered absolutely illegal, the coup d'etat and the beginning of the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina was not a fateful date, but an attempt by then-President of the Republic of Serbia Slobodan Milošević, to continue with the realization of his plan to create a "Greater Serbia", based on the 1986. SANU Memorandum.

In 2016, the Constitutional Court of B&H issued a decision according to which the celebration of January 9th as the day of the smaller B&H entity unconstitutional.
