The chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, said that he "does not take part in any overthrow of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić" and said that "it is obvious that someone is trying to estrange the leadership of Republic of Srpska and Serbia".
Dodik announced that he would be in Belgrade today for the unveiling of the monument to Stefan Nemanja, and stated that there were no changes in the relations between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina's entity of Republic of Srpska and personal relations with Vučić, who has Dodik's great support.
- That's my position. I have always shown it and I will always show it. We are very grateful for everything he has done for Republic of Srpska. And now suddenly there are some who place a story that something is collapsing. Nothing is collapsing - said Dodik.
Serbia and RS, Dodik claims, "are exposed to many negative tendencies coming from the West, from fierce political elites, and it will take a lot of unity to defend it."
Dodik believes that Vučić's great merit for today's Serbia, which is economically and politically stable, and is a strong regional factor.
He added that he is committed to the position that the policy pursued by Vučić has led to Serbia changing and being able to help RS as well.
To the allegations that he met with the bishop of Dusseldorf and the whole of Germany, Gregory, Dodik replied that he did not share political views with him.
- Those who want to engage in politics cannot at the same time engage in the most responsible work in the Church. The separation of church and state should remain. In the process when the process of electing a new head of the Serbian Orthodox Church is in progress, I absolutely support the efforts of our Church to achieve that in a transparent way - Dodik explained.
Wheoever is chosen by the Serbian Orthodox Church, Dodik said that he would be acceptable and supported.
Dodik reminded that he had good cooperation with Bishop Grigorije while he was serving in Herzegovina, but at that time his activities on the political level were not visible and there were no intentions.
- His approach to interfering in political life is not good. It does not benefit the Church and does not help the state. Only the Serbian Orthodox Church and the state are most visible through the preservation of our national interests - said Dodik.
