Citizens and activists of the initiative (Because it concerns us), gathered this morning in front of the Uborak landfill once again to express their dissatisfaction with the lawsuit filed against them by the City of Mostar, the public enterprise "Komos" Mostar, the public enterprise "Parkovi" Mostar and the public enterprise Mostar Landfill.

-We have gathered here to express our dissatisfaction with this lawsuit, which is something unbelievable in today's democratic societies. We also gathered to send a message to the newly elected councilors to take action to solve this environmental problem as soon as possible- the president of this civic initiative Omer Hujdur told reporters.

Vice President of the civic initiative "Jer nas se tiče" Nijaz Hodžić pointed out that citizens will not give up the fight to close the landfill, regardless of all the pressures they face.

-I hope that the new authorities in Mostar will initiate a serious procedure to close this landfill, rehabilitate it and relocate it somewhere more adequate- said Hodžić.

At this morning's protest, the police took personal information from the gathered citizens, and according to Hujdur, it was an attempt to discourage them.

-Since day one, we have been exposed to constant pressure, both from the police and from all levels of government, in order to drive us out of here, in order to give up what we are fighting for, and that is closing this landfill- Hujdur added.
