It is disgusting how the Sarajevo City Council played with Bogić Bogićević's candidacy.

It is also shameful how some of the actors of yesterday's drama justify themselves today.

It is devastating that we have seen in action that „Četvorka“ is not such a stable coalition, and even worse is the realization that even within the remaining „Trojka“ there are obviously hidden quarrels and mistrust.

Traces of political mud

None of the cheap political games we witnessed was deserved by the man whose fateful NO to the Greater Serbia project of Slobodan Milošević paved the way for the referendum for the independence of B&H in March 1992.

Bogić will also survive this disappointment in people and politics, it is certainly not his first. For Sarajevo and its multiethnic character and image, it would be fantastic for Bogić to change his decision, wipe off the traces of political mud into which they brazenly tried to roll him and agree to be the mayor of the B&H capital.

But there will remain a bitter taste of the provincial consciousness and down-to-earthness on which the politics of some large parties have fallen, but also of some small ones, which, after what they have shown at the Sarajevo City Hall, will never be big.

Informed sources say, and the clues give them the right, that during the last month in Sarajevo, in addition to the deadly coronavirus, the "almighty" hand of the "asim" from the SDA was also spreading.

Allegedly, the same recipe was applied, according to which the action of bringing Abdulah Skaka to the helm of Sarajevo and installing the first man of the Cantonal Committee of the SDA, Bakir's and Sebija's poltron Fikret Prevljak, was realized in due time.

And, of course, again with the help of the head of the secret police, Osman Mehmedagić Osmica.

Who is the champion of nepotism

That is probably why no one believes the crocodile tears that have been shed for Bogić Bogićević since yesterday afternoon by SDA councilors and cantonal champions. Their good intentions and alleged support for Bogićević burst like a soap bubble at the first contact with the question why they (meanily) supported the election of Srđan Srdić as chairman of the City Council, and they know that his eventual election means that the mayor of Sarajevo cannot be of Serbian nationality. Or maybe, for example, a Bosniak again - Skaka?

There is no coincidence, nor is the argument so convincing that the SDA did not want to support NiP candidate Jasmin Ademović, the son of the much better known former AID chief and current NiP director Kemal Ademović, due to nepotism (although Konaković and Ademović older had to know that the SDA will catch them reluctantly on that, simply, wrong leg).

Namely, the SDA is the last party that can object to someone's family and family employment and appointment. It is, in fact, it's patent and modus vivendi since the first democratic elections 30 years ago.

It is up to the remaining three - Nermin Nikšić, Predrag Kojović and Dino Konaković - to repair the damage that was done. It may be easier for them to believe that it is an inexperience and a momentary disorientation, but all indications are that they too must sit at the table more honestly, build a higher level of trust, clear up and prevent any doubt and play with a fig in their pocket.
