Čolo and Kavalec meet to discuss amendments to the electoral legislation

Chair of the Interdepartmental Working Group for Amendments to the Electoral Legislation Alma Čolo spoke today with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec, who stressed that the OSCE Mission fully supports the Interdepartmental Group's activities.

Kavalec expressed hope that the work of the group would result in proposed amendments to the law that would represent a step forward in line with the achievements of democratic societies.

Čolo and Kavalec jointly assessed that the work on the amendments to the electoral legislation must be done in such a way as to take into account the opinions and recommendations of domestic institutions and experts with experience in this field.

At the same time, Kavalec underlined the readiness of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and other OSCE experts to contribute to resolving the problems burdening the election process in Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated the PA B&H.
