The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina has asked the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to extend the custody of Zijad Mutap and Hasan Dupovac, suspected of organized crime, in connection with the criminal offense of aiding and abetting the perpetrator and illegal mediation in the "Memić case".

The measure of detention is necessary in order to ensure the undisturbed conduct of the investigation in the case of the death of young man Dženan Memić, in February 2016, the Prosecutor's Office of B&H announced.

Detention was requested due to the danger that by remaining at large, the suspects could obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, and influence witnesses or accomplices, as well as the fact that their release would cause citizens' anxiety, the statement said.

Zijad Mutap is the father of the girl Alisa who was with Dženan at the time he was attacked in Ilidža, and Hasan Dupovac is the former head of the Traffic Investigation Department of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of the Interior.
