Editorial board of "Dnevni avaz"

After the legal team of "Avaz-roto press", led by the well-known and reputable lawyer Ifet Feraget, held a meeting today with the President of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo Janja Jovanović, from our legal team we received assurances that the case of a drastic, and in legal practice unheard of penalty imposed on our company due to non-existent court penalties in the amount of 212,000 marks, will be treated professionally in the appeal procedure and in accordance with positive legal regulations.

Therefore, the Editorial Board and journalists of "Dnevni avaz" inform the public that we have decided to temporarily give up on the announced protests scheduled for Wednesday in front of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo. We hope that this case, after the reaction of the public and professional associations for the protection of media freedom, will change the dangerous and undemocratic social situation in which corrupt political powerful people in power exert pressure and dictate the decisions and behavior of individual judges and prosecutors.

We especially thank our numerous readers who in recent days sent messages of support to our journalists and the most widely circulated and influential daily in B&H to continue reporting on deviations and systemic corruption of individuals, who think they are masters of freedom, life and existence of citizens.

We would also like to express our special gratitude to our colleagues from the Press and Online Media Council of B&H and the Association "BH Journalists", who reacted promptly and expressed solidarity and support to our journalists, "Dnevni avaz" and the publisher "Avaz-roto press".
