A video projection illuminated on the facade of the Sarajevo City Hall last night symbolically marked the beginning of the presidency of the Republic of Slovenia over the Council of the European Union.

This presidency will be based on the slogan "Together. Resilient. Europe." Among its priorities, Slovenia prioritizes strengthening the resilience, recovery and strategic autonomy of the Union. Slovenia will have a unique opportunity to hold talks on the future of Europe together with three key European institutions.

Strengthening European values, which are the basis for mutual cooperation and understanding of common challenges, will be at the heart of Slovenia's third goal. The rule of law and the strengthening of the rule of law are the values on which the European Union is based and exists, said the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in B&H, which organized last night's video projection.

On June 25, the Republic of Slovenia marked the 30th anniversary of independence and statehood.

Since 1 May 2004, the Republic of Slovenia has been a full member of the European Union. Slovenia held the presidency of the EU Council for the first time in the first half of 2008, and the second presidency of the EU Council began on Thursday, 1. July.
