Pakistan appoints new intelligence chief

Pakistan on Wednesday appointed a new chief of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the country's premier intelligence agency.

According to an army statement, Lt. Gen. Nadeem Anjum replaces Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed, who will now serve as corps commander Peshawar.

Before his latest assignment, Lt. Gen Anjum was corps commander Karachi. A graduate from Combined Arms Center UK, he has served on several command and operational positions, including at the Line of Control, the de-facto border that divides the disputed Jammu and Kashmir region between Pakistan and India.
