The Battalion Group of Light Infantry of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina received the highest marks, which means that it is fully combat ready according to the standards established by the NATO alliance.

This was confirmed today by BiH Minister of Defense Sifet Podžić, who emphasized that the inspection of the units was successfully completed, because in addition to this unit, two more platoons (military police and a platoon for the destruction of unexploded ordnance) were re-evaluated, which also received excellent marks.

Evaluation is done in five areas

Evaluation is done in five areas, namely preparations, operations, support, communications and administration. The soldiers had 2,100 tasks that they had to complete in front of evaluators from the NATO alliance and partner countries, and 1,118 members of the Armed Forces from three platoons were evaluated in four days.

- These results mean that 10 percent of the personnel of the Armed Forces are rated excellent, i.e. fully combat ready. This is very important because many, stronger and more equipped armies failed at these tasks, some NATO member countries from our environment failed to pass this assessment - said Podžić.

He called on all those who, after the October general elections, will be part of the executive and legislative authorities to raise their hand to resolve the statutory issues of members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to vote for the budget of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina so that the soldiers are equipped with modern equipment.

Ukrainian soldiers

- These days it is clear to everyone what it means when a soldier is equipped, Ukrainian soldiers show it best. The security of every country and state is number one, when security disappears, Ukraine is an example of that, everything else takes a backseat - concluded Podžić.

This week, the "Combined Effort 22" exercise and the NATO evaluation of the declared unit of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina were organized at the Manjača training ground.
