About twenty days ago in Sarajevo, an apartment was robbed from which a painting by Mersad Berber, a giant of BH painting, was stolen, valued at several tens of thousands of marks.

The robbers, not knowing what artwork they had stolen, sold Berber's painting and a few odds and ends for 300 KM at one of Sarajevo's markets.

Through a swift police operation, the robbers were caught and the valuable painting was recovered.

And then the show began. When they were brought to the police station and confronted with the crime they had committed, the robbers still had no idea what they had stolen.

When one of the investigators stated that "they have corpus delicti", "that they were found and quickly arrested" and that "Berber was also found", the robber whispered to lawyer Omar Mehmedbašić: "The police have nothing. They have my ****, they have nothing, no Berber was with us"!?

This turn of events made everyone present laugh. Then, on this nebulous situation without a hint of malice, lawyer Mehmedbašić himself joked in court, asking the judge "will you release them if they find Berber too?"

Otherwise, they were ordered a month in custody.
