Darijana Filipović, candidate for membership in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the HDZ BiH, spoke at a forum in Zagreb organized by the HDZ Founders' Community, where she presented views on the political position of Croats in BiH and possible solutions to the constitutional crisis.
Third Entity
Filipović commented on the idea of a third entity, namely proposals for territorial reorganization of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina into two units, as HMS notes.
Although she emphasized that the third entity is not in the "primary focus of political action," she stated that such options were discussed during negotiations on the Washington and Dayton Agreements and that the idea still exists in political circles close to the HDZ.
- If this kind of treatment of Croats continues, the third entity remains one of the models or considerations through which the Croatian people seek to respond to the injustice being done to them - Filipović said.
She added that this idea is, according to her claims, "portrayed negatively" in Sarajevo and that this is an attempt, in her words, to limit the political positions of Croats.
- This is definitely an attempt to stop the political thinking of the Croatian people about how to eliminate inequality, because in that case one would have to acknowledge that injustice actually exists - Filipović stated.
Other Candidates
Speaking about other candidates for the BiH Presidency, she commented on Slaven Kovačević and Zdenko Lučić.
She said that Kovačević is running as a Croatian representative but is seeking support from the Bosniak electorate, while she stated that Lučić has the right to run but that "electoral mathematics" must be taken into account.
- Every additional candidate for the Croatian seat in the Presidency reduces the chances for Croats to elect their legitimate representative - Darijana Filipović said in Zagreb.
