Director of the FB&H Agency for Management of Confiscated Property Vinko Jakić met today at the FB&H Prosecutor's Office with a legal expert on behalf of the Delegation of the European Union and project leader of the "EU4Justice: Support for the Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption in Bosnia and Herzegovina", Damien Romestant and Chief FB&H Prosecutor Munib Halilović, said the Press Office of the FB&H Government.

The topic of the meeting was strengthening the fight against corruption and organized crime in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially through more proactive financial investigations and confiscation of proceeds of criminal activities.

In that sense, and taking into account the competencies of the FB&H Prosecutor's Office and the Agency, and with the support and assistance of the EU4Justice project team, efforts will be made to improve the entire system in fighting corruption and organized crime through certain joint activities.

One of the key things to work on in the coming period is the harmonization of the practices of cantonal prosecutor's offices in conducting financial investigations and confiscation of the illegally acquired property, taking into account cases of application fo different standards, but also the inefficiency of individual prosecutor's offices in these cases.
