Komšić and Džaferović with Johansson on more efficient migration management

Members of the Presidency of B&H Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović received today EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson and expressed gratitude for the EU's interest in partnership with B&H, bearing in mind the continuous visits of senior EU officials to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

B&H Presidency members thanked the Head of the EU Delegation to B&H Johann Sattler for the cooperation and support he provides to the B&H authorities in the implementation and fulfillment of conditions for EU integration of B&H. Ambassador Sattler also attended the meeting with EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson.

Commissioner for Home Affairs Johansson presented the activities on the implementation of the New Pact on Migration and Asylum and the achievement of a common mechanism for migration management, as well as the new approach that should strengthen the common migration and asylum policy, announced the Presidency of B&H.

The statement said that the EU will pay more attention to the issue of strengthening the border police, in order to better control the borders, and in order to prevent illegal entry into B&H, i.e. migrants who do not have granted asylum will be returned to their country of origin or departure.

Members of the Presidency of B&H expressed their gratitude for the interest and support of the EU in solving the problem of the migrant crisis in B&H, and reiterated their commitment and readiness for full EU membership and implementation of reforms in the European integration process, as well as implementing 14 key priorities, the BiH Presidency stated.
