Sattler to Džaferović: Vaccines secured through the EU to arrive in early May

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović received today the Special Representative and Head of the European Union (EU) Mission to B&H Johann Sattler.

During the talks on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Sattler reiterated the position of the EU institutions and member states to strongly support the sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sattler informed Džaferović about the dynamic of vaccine delivery to B&H through the EU, according to which in the first week of May, 80,000 vaccines should arrive to Bosnia and Herzegovina through the COVAX mechanism, as well as the first delivery of 214,000 vaccines provided through IPA funds.

The two officials expressed a common position that the focus of political action should be placed on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as fulfilling the necessary reforms on the implementation of the 14 recommendations from the European Commission's Opinion on B&H's membership in the European Union.
