B&H AF take part in Balkan Medical Task Force exercise

The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&HAF), within the Balkan Medical Task Force (BMTF), are actively participating this week in the international consequence management exercise "North Macedonia 2021", which is being held in Ohrid under the auspices of the NATO Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center (NATO EADRCC).

The Balkan Medical Task Force is part of a regional project of the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Slovenia, and nine members of the AFB&H ambulance are participating in the exercise in North Macedonia from September 20 to 23, 2021.

Participants in the exercise include 15 other countries, members of NATO and the Partnership for Peace (PfP) program, as well as international organizations such as the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the Multinational Brigade of Southeast European Peacekeeping Forces (SEEBRIG) and the Southeast European Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative (DPPI SEE), which show their capacity to manage the consequences of natural disasters.

The main goals of the BMTF in the exercise "North Macedonia 2021" is to check the readiness and ability to act in case of natural disaster, in accordance with the defined mission and tasks, practice procedures in cases of mass casualties (MASCAL) and test the effectiveness of information management in these activities, announced the Press Service of the B&H Ministry of Defense of B&H.
