Turkey's national defense minister discussed on Wednesday with his Serbian counterpart defense and security cooperation.

Hulusi Akar received Nebojša Stefanović in the Turkish capital Ankara on Wednesday.

After a one-on-one meeting, the two ministers co-chaired a meeting between delegations of the two countries that exchanged views on bilateral and regional defense, and cooperation on security and the defense industry.

Akar said relations in the fields of defense and security between Turkey and Serbia will continue to progress rapidly in line with the vision of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vučić.

Noting that dialogue between Turkey and Serbia contributes to regional peace, Akar said stability in the Balkans is among Turkey's priorities.

Earlier, Stefanović visited Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey.
