Džaferović meets with President of Azerbaijan Aliyev

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović met with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku today.

The interlocutors pointed out that the relations between the two countries are extremely good and friendly, with significant room for improving relations in the field of economic, energy and cultural cooperation.

They discussed the project of the Adriatic-Ionian Gas Pipeline (IAP), which envisages ensuring the direct supply of natural gas to Bosnia and Herzegovina from Azerbaijan, which is extremely important given the growing challenges in the European market when it comes to gas supply.

President Aliyev expressed gratitude to Džaferović for the repeatedly confirmed support to the Azerbaijani authorities in the efforts they are making to protect the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Džaferović congratulated the President of Azerbaijan on the signing of the peace agreement regarding the Karabakh region and provided full support to the reintegration of the territory of Azerbaijan.

They discussed the challenges facing the Azerbaijani authorities in demining the territory of the Karabakh region and the support that demining teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina can provide in this regard.

The President of Azerbaijan called on Bosnian companies to participate in infrastructure reconstruction projects in the Karabakh region, stated the B&H Presidency.
