- I have no doubt that the institutions in Berlin lack some information, the only question is what is the goal of that policy. If the goal is to make Serbia a regional chief, that will not work. I told Schmidt that too. We can be equal and only on that basis can we talk. There are no more bosses in the Balkans - said Željko Komšić, chairman of the Presidency of B&amp;H.
He did not miss the opportunity to "criticize" Schmidt, who he said was "uninformed".
And while Merkel, as Komšić says, "is coming to Vučić's feet", in his style he gives arrogant statements full of false self-confidence that something cannot pass and that there is no boss. And the real question that Komšić and his SDA partners should answer is why Merkel is coming to Vučić's feet, and not to him, or to them.
More precisely, what are the concrete effects of him being in the Presidency, which, when we include the previous two mandates, has already entered its 12th year?
Those 12 years were clearly not enough for Komšić to establish any more serious diplomatic relations with any country or statesman in the world. The members of the Presidency, generally have no meetings with anyone of world leaders.
Where and to whom is he the boss? We know that he has a boss who is not at all impressive, because he is a slave to his own wife and the Turkish leader.
Unlike Belgrade, none of the serious statesmen have come to Sarajevo for a long time, except occasionally Erdogan to negotiate more serious projects with Dodik, and to strengthen traditional loyalty and servility with Izetbegović family.
Komšić's typical reaction to the favoring of Serbia by Merkel and other European leaders among Bosniaks, unfortunately, is mostly met with infantile angry reactions about the unjust and Islamophobic world.
Yes, the world we live in may be unfair, but we should blame ourselves for not establishing a better position in it.

One example illustrates this perfectly. The Bosnian Advocacy Center (BAC) announced that RS spent 40 million KM on lobbying in the United States alone. B&amp;H, FB&amp;H or any Bosniak-majority canton spent - all together - zero KM on lobbying in this country. So, that is a picture of the engagement and work of Bosniak "patriots" and Komšić in the leading power of the world - zero KM.
Let us remember that in the post-war years, B&amp;H diplomacy had a good position in the world, certainly much better than the then isolated Serbia. In the last fifteen years, under the leadership of Bakir Izetbegović and his partners, led by Željko Komšić, there has been a complete reversal, ie international marginalization and a kind of self-isolation of B&amp;H and Bosniaks.
Komšić's anger and populism will not help anyone, least of all the state of B&amp;H. Just as empty arrogance and harsh words towards the political representatives of the leading European powers are certainly not something that will correct the results of Komšić's and Izetbegović's many years of bad work.

<h2>The dirty chase of the regime media on Schmidt</h2>

The fact is that Komšić and intelligence and media circles close to the ruling SDA regime have in recent months started indiscriminately "shooting" at the leading European power. They launched a kind of campaign of verbal attacks on the leadership of Germany and the new High Representative Christian Schmidt, all with accusations that both Schmidt and Merkel work for the enemies of B&amp;H. Such a dirty chase will certainly not improve the position of B&amp;H and Bosniaks. On the contrary, it can only lead them to even greater isolation.

The real question that the chairman of the Presidency of B&H and his partners from the SDA should answer is why Merkel is coming to Vučić, and not to him, or to them

Six new countries joined the European Union’s COVID-19 certificate system, the European Commission announced on Wednesday.

As of today, COVID-19 certificates issued by officials in Albania, the microstate of Andorra, Israel, Monaco, Morocco, and Panama, as well as Denmark’s autonomous Faroe Islands, are accepted by the EU.

A vaccination mandate goes into effect throughout France on Wednesday, affecting some 2.7 million people in healthcare professions.

According to French news outlet franceinfo, the mandate will apply to nurses and doctors, caregivers in homes and nursing homes, firefighters, paramedics and emergency personnel, and some gendarmes. Those who refuse to comply risk suspension without pay and possible sanctions. The mandate will affect those who work both in a public or private capacity.
All who are employed in healthcare professions must present a complete vaccination schedule, which means either proof of receipt of a first dose of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative screening test conducted in the last 72 hours.
In the face of a still-escalating pandemic and a surging Delta variant, the mandate was first put in place by President Emmanuel Macron in a speech on July 12.
- If we do not act now, the number of cases will continue to rise and inevitably lead to increased hospitalizations in August - said the head of state in a televised address.
The vaccination obligation is backed by Article 7 of the latest sanitary law formally invoked by the government in August. Workers who do not receive the mandatory doses of the vaccine within a reasonable amount of time will be suspended without pay.

With the parliamentary elections less than two weeks away, 40% of the voters were still undecided, according to a survey by the Allensbach Research Institute.

During his campaign, Laschet called on the citizens to vote for the Christian Democrats to ensure that the country will be governed by a “reliable” and “stable” government in the next four years.
He warned the voters that a win by Social Democrats would bring the prospect of a left-wing coalition government, including the far-left Die Linke, which is critical of the EU and against Germany’s membership in NATO.
Laschet has good ties with Germany’s Turkish community and other immigrant groups in the country, as he served as the integration minister of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2005-2010.
Laschet was a federal lawmaker in 1994-1998 and served as a member of the European Parliament from 1999 to 2005.

The Social Democrats’ chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz is Germany’s most popular politician after Angela Merkel.

According to a recent poll by public broadcaster ZDF, 68% of Germans consider Scholz a more suitable candidate, well ahead of the other two candidates.
His party SPD is leading Merkel’s CDU/CSU bloc in most recent surveys, but it is still far from winning a governing majority. Social Democrats will need coalition partners even if they win the elections.
The 62-year-old politician is seen as the most competent chancellor candidate by the majority of the voters. He is the vice-chancellor and finance minister in the current coalition government of the SPD and Merkel’s Christian Democrats.
During his campaign, Scholz said if Social Democrats win the elections, they will make every effort for better wages, stable pensions, and affordable housing. He promised to raise the national minimum wage to €12 ($14.2) per hour.
Scholz is an experienced politician and has been active in politics since the 1980s. He was the deputy leader of SPD’s youth organization in 1982-1988 and served as the minister of labor and social affairs in 2007-2009. Scholz was the mayor of Hamburg between 2011 and 2018.

The environmentalist Greens’ candidate Annalena Baerbock is the only woman running for chancellor’s slot in this election, and also the youngest among the candidates.

The 40-year-old politician has been considered “the most sympathetic” candidate by the voters, according to recent surveys. But she lacks experience and never held a position in the government.
She has been a lawmaker in the national parliament, Bundestag, since 2013 and was elected the co-leader of the Greens in 2018.

Recent polls suggest that the Greens may get up to 19% of the vote, more than double the party received in the previous elections in 2017. The party enjoys growing support from young people and voters concerned about climate change and other environmental issues.

The minister said that 80 per cent of the adult population would be fully vaccinated within the next three weeks.

An Austrian court on Tuesday jailed for up to nine years two Serbian members of the notorious "Pink Panthers" gang, an international criminal network specialising in jewel heists.

The court in Innsbruck, western Austria, jailed the pair -- aged 37 and 35 -- to four-and-a-half years and nine years respectively for a string of robberies carried out between 2011 and 2017.
Both had pleaded guilty and expressed regret for their crimes, which was reflected in their sentences, the judge said.
Some of the victims were seriously injured during the robberies and the value of the stolen goods was estimated to be two million euros ($2.4 million). 
Both men had already been convicted of similar crimes in Switzerland last year, before being extradited.
The gang, led by masterminds from the former Yugoslavia, was given named the "Pink Panthers" by British police after a diamond theft in London in 2003.
One of the stolen gems had been hidden in a jar of beauty cream, a ploy reminiscent of one of the Pink Panther comedy films starring Peter Sellers.

The presidents of Turkey and Germany discussed bilateral relations, Afghanistan, and migration issues on Tuesday, according to an official statement.

In a phone call, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier also discussed regional matters, said Turkey’s Communications Directorate.
Citing Steinmeier's remarks at a panel last Friday, Erdogan welcomed his German counterpart’s praise for the Turkish community in Germany and Turkey.
In a speech marking the 60th anniversary of the signing of the German-Turkish labor agreement, Steinmeier thanked Turkish immigrants who arrived in Germany in the 1960s for contributing to the country’s economic growth and its transformation into a rich, culturally diverse society.
"The people who came at that time, who were called guest workers: You, your children, your grandchildren are today part of what makes Germany. A Germany without you is simply not imaginable hereafter," said Steinmeier.

Erdogan also hailed Turkey and Germany's coordination and solidarity as NATO allies during last month’s evacuations from Afghanistan, stressing the need to maintain the same approach during the "critical process" Afghanistan is now going through.

Stressing that necessary humanitarian aid must be delivered to Afghanistan by the UN and other groups, the Turkish president said no one wants to see a replay of the migrant flow from Syria in 2015.
Germany and the EU should provide support to neighboring countries that bear the burden of Afghan migration in this regard, he added.
Erdogan stated that some European countries have limited the issue to only border security, underlining that Turkey does not have the capacity to shoulder a new migration burden.
In the call, Erdogan also said his country rightfully expects implementation of 2016 Turkey-EU migration agreement in all respects, stressing that the EU must take steps on matters such as revitalizing Turkey's membership negotiations, updating the Customs Union, and visa liberalization for Turkish citizens.
The migration deal was signed on March 18, 2016, as the Syrian civil war continued to uproot millions who then began their "journey of hope" to reach the EU.
The agreement contained six key points: the reinvigoration of Ankara's EU accession process, modernization of their Customs Union, revival of high-level dialogue, visa liberalization for Turkish nationals, cooperation in managing migration flows, and steps in counter-terrorism.​​​​​​​
Turkey has long complained that while it upheld its end of the deal, the EU did not keep its pledges, including on visa liberalization.

At least 63 people tested positive for COVID-19 after attending a dance party in the western German city of Muenster, local media reported on Tuesday.

We learn that the case was formed after the report of the Directorate for Inspection Affairs of Sarajevo Canton (KUIP) but also the writing of the media and the letter from Zagreb that arrived to Rifat Škrijelj, Rector of the University of Sarajevo (UNSA). 
The Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb confirmed a month ago that for the Director General of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS), there is no documentation on the basis of which they could confirm the authenticity of the student booklet and issue a certificate of passed exams at this higher education institution.
These data were forwarded to Rifat Škrijelj, Rector of the University of Sarajevo (UNSA). Two months ago, Škrijelj decided to ask the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb for information on the basis of which the authenticity of the student booklet published in the media, in which there was a lot of illogicality, would be confirmed. It is a photocopy of the student booklet issued in Zagreb on March 2nd, 1993.
As these were incomplete data, answers were requested from Zagreb, which arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina institutions in response.
- An inspection of the archives of the Medical Faculty of the University of Zagreb established that Sebija Izetbegović, born on April 6, 1960 in Titograd, Republic of Montenegro, was enrolled in the first year of postgraduate study Ultrasound Clinical Medicine in the academic year 1992/1993 under the student's ID number 4690114. There is no documentation in the students's file on the basis of which we could confirm the authenticity of the student booklet and issue a certificate of passed exams contained in the student booklet - it is stated in the answer of the Dean of the Medical Faculty in Zagreb Marijan Klarica. Two weeks ago, the Directorate for Inspection Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton completed the inspection supervision at the Medical Faculty in Sarajevo.
It was established that Sebija Izetbegović has only a copy of the student booklet as proof of schooling in Zagreb. The KUIP clearly indicated why additional checks were needed regarding her education.

We would like to remind you that the director of KCUS found herself at the center of a new affair because it is suspicious that she completed 10 postgraduate exams in Zagreb, which were then, according to unconfirmed information, recognized in Sarajevo. It is disputable that she enrolled in the study on March 2nd, 1993, and passed the first exam on March 19th.
The Directorate for Inspection Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton (KUIP) also determined that the masters' degree of Director of KCUS requires additional checks. Two weeks ago, the Directorate for Inspection Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton completed the inspection supervision at the Medical Faculty in Sarajevo.
At the session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, the initiative was adopted for the SC Prosecutor's Office to perform all checks related to the Izetbegović's diploma as soon as possible.

About 1,500 people are accommodated in the reception centers Lipa, Borići and Miral, but the number of users of these centers changes almost every day, confirmed the spokesman of the Una-Sana Canton Police (USC), Adnan Beganović.

- At the centers of Lipa and Borići in the area of ​​Bihać, 1,000 to 1,200 people were taken care of, depending on the day. There are about 500 migrants in Velika Kladuša Miral, but considering their constant movements and numerous attempts to cross the border with the European Union, those numbers change almost every day and it is impossible to have precise data all the time - Beganović told FENA.
According to unofficial data, there are about 1,000 more migrants and refugees outside the official camps, i.e. in public areas, abandoned facilities and private accommodation in the USC.
- Continuously in cooperation with the Service for Foreigners Affairs of B&amp;H, we are working on relocating these people to official centers, or I can freely say, providing dignified living conditions and space for all these people. We will be even more active on this issue immediately after the completion of the migrant settlement at the Lipa site, and we hope that it will be soon. However, I can certainly say that this year we had a smaller influx of migrants and more efficient cooperation with the competent state institutions, which resulted in a more favorable security and humanitarian situation - the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Una-Sana Canton Nermin Kljajić told FENA.
The completion of the migrant settlement on the site of Lipa and the accommodation of the first users of the services of the newly built center is expected in the foreseeable future, before the worsening weather conditions.
- Most of the works are progressing according to plan, but we also have certain infrastructural problems that have slowed us down. Here, first of all, I mean solving the problem of constant supply of electricity and drinking water. However, I believe that we will eliminate all problems until the weather worsens and soon move in the first users of the services of the new center with an accommodation capacity of 1,500 people - said the director of the Service for Foreigners Affairs of B&amp;H Slobodan Ujić.
It was also emphasized that in all three reception centers, special attention is focused on the health care of cared for people, so that the health and epidemiological situation is at an enviable level.
The first part of the process of voluntary vaccination against COVID-19 was carried out, so 270 people were vaccinated in the temporary tent settlement Lipa alone.

A total of 2,553 samples were registered to the Public Health Institute of the Federation of B&amp;H in the past 24 hours, of which 417 were positive for SARS-CoV-2.
